I can hear the wind blowing in the trees outside my cottage right now. I don’t know why, but I’ve always liked windy nights. Maybe it’s just the contrast between the still, normally quiet darkness and the trees that are all set in motion.

I remember stargazing one night many years ago. It was perfectly clear with a massive expanse of stars laid out above, but it was so windy it was impossible to look at them through a telescope – the scope magnified its own movements from the wind. But I still remember the stars and milky way solidly set against a foreground of fluid, swaying trees that drowned out the quiet night noises.
